SIO of India demands for University in Murshidabad

The Students rally in Berhampore for demanding a University

The Largest Students Organisation of India, The Students Islamic Organisation of India (SIO of India), Murshidabad district raised a voice to establish a University in Murshidabad.

The District Murshidabad is the 4th largest District in West Bengal by Population. It has more than 75 lakhs people. It was the Capital of Undivided Bengal (Bangla, Bihar and Odisha) and was the glorious place in the world map. But Todays picture is another. Economical & Higher Studies is very poor. A large number of people belongs to Below Poverty Level (BPL). There are no available facilities for higher studies. There are no University in 75 lakhs peoples district where others district has more than two university. Students are trying to improve their lot through education but in vain as there is no a single university in this district. It is at the bottom level in educational hierarchy of West Bengal. It is unjust and injustice in education.

In these circumstances, students raised their voice to establish a full-fledged University in Murshidabad ASAP. Around 5000 Students was gathered in Barack Square and make a student rally. The Rally crossed the City's important place with slogan for demanding a University. After rally, Students submit their voice to the District Magistrate of Murshidabad.
